  Important Note: Library Announces Reduced Hours

Due to cutbacks from the town, the Lewisboro Library has had to reduce its service hours and library materials budget, and cut part-time staff hours as of January 2, 2010. The Library will no longer be open on Sunday and Monday. In addition, our book pickup service from our drop boxes in Vista and Goldens Bridge have been discontinued.

Try These New Databases 

The Westchester Library System has acquired two new databases we want to share with you. Tell Me Moreฎ is a complete language learning solution featuring more than 2,000 hours of learning per language.  Languages include:  American English, Dutch, French, German, Italian and Spanish. This service is only currently compatible with Internet Explorer.  The Job & Career Accelerator, a comprehensive online job search system, is now available to help overwhelmed job seekers find employment. This innovative online resource provides job seekers everything they need to find their next job, all in one easy-to-use application. Both these online programs are available at no charge with your library card and can be accessed at a library or at home. 

Library Email Newsletter

The Library has a monthly email newsletter to keep patrons informed of upcoming programs. To sign up for the service, send an email to lewisborolibrary@gmail.com.

Have You Tried the Playaway?

Playaway is the newest format of audiobooks – a preloaded digital audio player.  It combines complete individual titles with an easy-to-use player - all in one small unit. Simply press play to start listening immediately – there is no need for a separate player.  You may use your own headphones, or purchase a set of earbuds from the library for $2. The loan period is three weeks.  The Playaway can be renewed once for an additional three weeks if no holds are placed on the title.  The overdue fee is 20ข per day.

Wireless Internet Access

Wireless Internet access is now available at the Lewisboro Library.  We invite you to explore our high-speed Internet access using your own wireless-enabled laptop or pda. In order to connect, your computer must have a WiFi-compatible network card installed (802.11b or 802.11g).  We also recommend a charged battery, as electrical outlets are limited. Wireless users agree to abide by the library policy on wireless use of the Internet. A copy of this policy can be found at the Circulation Desk.
