Helpful databases

The Westchester Library System has many helpful databases that patrons may access free of charge from home using their library card. The databases can be reached via the Online Resources link above.

One of the newer databases is Morningstar Investment Research Center. The online library edition offers proprietary stock and mutual fund analysis, screening tools and portfolio-building features to library cardholders. Proceed to Digital Collections on the Westchester Library System website. Morningstar is listed in the Research Tools section. Once you have logged in to Morningstar, you can use the Help & Education link to about using the database and access the online course modules on investing.

Another new database under Online Resources is Rocket Languages. This award winning program is an interactive language learning system.  Languages offered include Spanish, Arabic, French, German, Chinese (Mandarin), Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Inglés (English for Spanish speakers), and American Sign Language. Patrons can learn at their own pace.

The “Job and Career Accelerator,” a comprehensive online job search system, provides job seekers everything they need to find their next job, in one easy application.

Library Email Newsletter

The Library has a monthly email newsletter to keep patrons informed of upcoming programs. To sign up for the service, send an email to lewisborolibrary@gmail.com.

Wireless Internet Access

Wireless Internet access is now available at the Lewisboro Library.  We invite you to explore our high-speed Internet access using your own wireless-enabled laptop or pda. In order to connect, your computer must have a WiFi-compatible network card installed (802.11b or 802.11g).  We also recommend a charged battery, as electrical outlets are limited. Wireless users agree to abide by the library policy on wireless use of the Internet. A copy of this policy can be found at the Circulation Desk. For detailed information, please refer to the Wireless Configuration Information sheet available at the Circulation Desk.

        Wireless Network Name: lewlibrary

PIN Required to Access Library Account

Library patrons are required to log-in to the online library catalog using their library card number and a personalized identification number (PIN) before viewing information about their account or to place a hold. By default, your PIN is the last 4 digits of the phone number registered on your library card account. After logging-in for the first time, library patrons should change their PIN to something that is easy to remember, but that only they will know.
