LEWISBORO LIBRARY FAIR - Saturday, September 23, 2017

10 am - 4 pm  Onatru Farm Town Park

99 Elmwood Road, South Salem, NY

The 57th annual Lewisboro Library Fair will be held rain or shine, on Saturday, September 23 from 10 am to 4 pm at Onatru Farm Town Park. The Fair highlight is the Book Sale, but it also features “Attic Treasures” and Toy sales, a silent auction, food, music, vintage cars, an amazing maze, kids’ games and local vendors. The Fair Pre-Sales, also held at Onatru Farm, are a great warm-up to Fair Day. The Book and Sporting Equipment Pre-Sale is Thursday, September 21 from 5 to 9 pm. Admission is free for Lewisboro residents; there is a $20 admission fee for non-residents. The Book Pre-Sale continues Friday, September 22 from 9 am to 5 pm, with free admission for all. There will be an After-Sale of book and Attic Treasure bargains on Sunday, September 24 from 10 am to 2 pm.

The Fair’s car show, or Concours d’Elegance, will showcase a wide range of vehicles from show cars to weekend cruisers. To register, contact Dean Travalino at 763-5393 or dstravalino@optonline.net. There is no entrance fee, but space is limited. The Fair’s Silent Auction will offer opportunities to bid on gift baskets, antique furniture and toys,  gift cards for local businesses and services and much more.

An array of food is available to please the pickiest of palates as well as homemade baked goods at the Bake Sale Tent. Donations of baked goods are needed, and can be dropped off at the Bake Sale Tent anytime after 10 am on Fair Day. The theme for this year's "Battle of the Bakers" is apple desserts. So whip up your prized apple cake, cookie, pie, muffin - anything that doesn't have to be refrigerated! Entries should be brought to the Bake Sale Tent by noon on Fair Day. Judging is at 2:00 pm.

PLEASE VOLUNTEER! The Fair is our major fundraiser for the year. To help the Fair run smoothly we need volunteers on Fair Day, for set-up, Pre-Sales and After-Sale and to help collect donations of books, toys and Attic Treasures at Onatru Farm from 10 am to noon on Saturdays  in August and on September 9. Teens in middle and high school are especially needed to work the children's game area. This is a great opportunity for students to earn community service hours.  Please sign up at the Library or via these links:

Vendor /Community Groups - Do you have a small business selling jewelry, crafts, home services, etc.? Showcase your business at this popular Fair! The Library Fair has a limited number of vendor spaces for $80. Please download the Vendor application and mail in with payment. Spaces are also available free of charge to non-profit community organizations who reserve a space using the Community application. There is an optional $25 fee for a table and chair. For more info contact lisawickersham@ymail.com.

Sponsors Needed - The Library needs the support of local businesses and individuals to underwrite the costs of producing the Fair, such as tent rentals, food and music, so more proceeds can go directly to the operating budget. If you are interested in being a named sponsor, please call Cindy Rubino at 875-9004.

Books, Toys, Attic Treasures – MARK YOUR CALENDARS! Donations of books, toys and items for the Fair’s Attic Treasures Tag Sale will be accepted every Saturday in August and on September 9. Donations can be dropped off at Onatru Farm from 10 am to noon on these days only. Books must be in good condition (i.e. no mildew). No condensed books, text books, encyclopedias, small paperbacks or magazines. For Attic Treasures we are seeking gently used furniture, toys, bicycles, artwork, kitchen and sports equipment. Items MUST be in working condition. We do not accept videotapes, upholstered furniture, bedding, stuffed animals, computers and accessories, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, televisions, large appliances, downhill skis or exercise machines. Please bring items in boxes, rather than garbage bags.
