Library Budget Vote

This year, for the first time, our library has a proposition on the ballot on Election Day, Tuesday, November 2nd.  We are asking people who live in the Town of Lewisboro to pay on average an additional 89 cents a week to support the library's programs and services.  If the funding proposal passes, among the things the library will be able to do are:

     Reopen Sundays and Mondays

     Expand evening hours.

     Increase computer access

Restore book pickup in Vista and Goldens Bridge

Expand children and adult programs including the concert series.

Restore and expand materials budget to purchase digital media, books, dvds, and audiobooks

     Establish a Music CD collection

Make needed building repairs and improvements

Help make the library ADA compliant

On average, for only $46.28 a year more, we'll be able to have a fully funded library that meets the needs of our community.

If you have any questions, please contact the library or go to the website http://www.voteyesforourlibrary.org/lewisboro/   This website provides information and also allows you to sign up to show your support.

I hope that you'll be able to vote yes for our library on Nov. 2.

Thanks for Fair Help

We would like to thank the many organizations and individuals that contributed their time, services and donations to the 50th Library Fair, held at Onatru Farm on September 25th. In particular, Fair co-chairs Jean McDonough and Sue Vales, who led a team of volunteers in producing a wonderful community event. Net proceeds from the Fair support the library’s annual operating budget. Without all of our  volunteers, sponsors and those who attended the Fair, the Library could not continue to provide its services to the Town.

There are many individuals and organizations to be thanked. Our corporate sponsors included: Arroway Chevrolet Cadillac, Dr. Joseph A. DeLapa, DDS, Estate Motors, Houlihan Lawrence Real Estate, Marshall Oil, Paraco Gas, Peter G. Rose, Susan Kuper Real Estate and Vinylume. Other supporters were: JP Morgan Chase of Cross River for banking services, the Vista Volunteer Fire Department, Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corps, South Salem Fire Department, Boy Scout Troops Vista Troop 101, Lewisboro Troop 1, and Goldens Bridge Troop 154, Girl Scout Troop 2108, Erika’s Pizza, Gossett Brothers, Lewisboro Lions Club, Horse and Hound Restaurant, Le Chateau Restaurant, Lewisboro Garden Club,  Lewisboro Police Department, Westchester Sheriff’s Dept., Lewisboro Town Maintenance Department, John Jay student volunteers, library staff and all volunteers.

PIN Required to Access Library Account

As of September 19,  library patrons are required to log-in to the online library catalog using their library card number and a personalized identification number (PIN) before viewing information about their account or to place a hold. By default, your new PIN is the last 4 digits of the phone number registered on your library card account. After logging-in for the first time, library patrons should change their PIN to something that is easy to remember, but that only they will know. This change has been made to provide greater security for the library card holder. For more information call 763-3857. Note: If you use Library Elf to track your items, you must update that account to include your PIN.

 Reduced Library Hours

Due to cutbacks from the town, the Lewisboro Library had to reduce its service hours and library materials budget, and cut part-time staff hours as of January, 2010. The Library is no longer open on  Sunday and Monday. In addition, our book pickup service from our drop boxes in Vista and Goldens Bridge have been discontinued.
